My primary role is research and advisory: to understand a client's situation and make recommendations on how they could proceed; to identify risks, opportunities, and contingencies; to help them make the best decision for their values, goals, and external constraints. I operate on a simple set of principles: minimum necessary intervention; context-sensitive solutions; build or improve systems whenever feasible. I ask a lot of questions, and wear a lot of hats, to learn from different perspectives and bring the best lessons from each to bear on solving a problem. My aim is to ensure the client has the tools and clarity to pursue their agenda with confidence. If I've done my job right, nobody else will have to know I was there.
