The Fire on the Mountain: The Life of James Baldwin
In honor of Black History Month, the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs and Mayor’s Office on African American Affairs invites you to join us for the FREE and EXCLUSIVE premiere of “ The Fire on the Mountain: The Life of James Baldwin,” a compelling multimedia production that explores the life, legacy, and enduring impact of James Baldwin.
Baldwin’s work continues to shape conversations around identity, race, sexuality, and justice. This powerful production brings his words and ideas to life through performance and visual storytelling, offering audiences an opportunity to reflect on the intersections of Black history, LGBTQ experience, and cultural expression. A panel discussion with local LGBTQIA+ legends will follow the performance, providing space for dialogue and deeper community engagement.
